They may even want your boss to write an explanation as well. They'll tell you when they reject your application. Once you provide them with a satisfactory explanation they will probably send a warden out to your house to inspect it. After you pass all that you can resubmit your application and go through the the whole wait time again. I had to do that for a little jon boat a few years ago. Like I said a real pain.....but it can be done if you've got several months to get jacked around by the state.
If the boat was originally used only in a privately owned lake or pond it did not need a registration number.
