Default Heading off to Kentucky Lake

Hope everyone has chance to get out with the weather getting better. This will be our (me and my adult sons) second of I hope many annual trips to KL. We will be staying at Shawnee Bay and hope to fish the north western part of the lake (small boat). Thinking about going across the lake to Duncan or Sugar bays.

Anyone have feedback on the Navionics east card? I was thinking of getting one because it gets both Illinois and Kentucky. I have a humminbird 998.

I have that card. It has a ton of lakes..even pickwick. Ive used mine on Rend but is so shallow that alot of it is useless. Ky lake shows alot of detail. Ive seen some ledges i wanna visit sometime.

In my opinion Navionics East is definantly worth the money, expecially if your going to be on ky lake. It will save you a ton of time narrowing that big ole lake down. I'm no expert down there but if I was staying at Shawnee with a small boat I would spend some time in Johnathon Cr....there is a free day use ramp by the bridge if you think it is to far of a run.

Have a good time. I hope to start that tradition with my adult sons soon. They both bought houses in the past year and settled into new jobs, so hopefully next year. I have already planted the seed. Post up how it went.

Good luck weather looks to be calm winds and the temperature is on a warming trend.
