    Default Accident on Rend?

Saw several boats flying through the new wake zone under the 154 bridge.... when I got to the boat ramp around 6 p.m, found out why they were in such a hurry- several conservation police trucks were at the ramp. Someone else taking out said a man had gone overboard and they were all rushing out to help try and find him... hope
    everyone is ok.

No word yet and they are still looking. I was there until about 11pm last night helping with no luck.
People need to be careful and respect the lakes.

    UPDATED 2:22 p.m. MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2012

WSIL -- The Department of Natural Resources are releasing the name of the missing boater as Alan Saiz. He is 54 years old and from Sesser.

    UPDATED 10:25 a.m. MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2012

WSIL -- Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says crews are searching for a 54-year-old man from rural Sesser.

The sheriff's department was notified of the missing boater at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Jones tells News 3 that the man fell overboard after the boat he was on ran out of gas and began drifting.

Because the boat was drifting and it was dark, Jones says crews do not have an exact location on where to search.

WSIL -- Crews are searching for a missing boater at Rend Lake.

Chris McCloud, spokesperson for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, says two people launched a boat from the Gun Creek boat ramp Sunday. McCloud says the boat ran out of gas and a man then fell overboard.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Franklin County Sheriff's Department, and Army Corps of Engineers are involved in the search.
