    Who says you have to wait until spring for some crappie and shrooms?? Mess of crappie and a nice Hen of the Woods. Been eatin on the hen all week and it is REALLY good. Gotta love them fall shrooms.

    nice mess of fish and shrooms, where ya fishing at?I also like to sautee the hen of the woods and put it on a big fat venison burger !!

    Thats what we're havin tonight crappie and shrooms went out this morning for an hour and found 15,eat some freeze some for later

    Yeppers. My name on here says it all. We have a big ole hen of the woods in the fridge right now. Although they have been a little harder to find this year around here. DRY, real dry.
    Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.

    This has been the absolute best year for puffballs up here. I couldn't believe how many I found. I gave many away and even left some in the woods, so they wouldn't go to waste.

    I just never did develop a taste for them. I tried them a couple different times. Do you have a super special, secret, or not so secret, recipe for them?
