Hey Frank, I didn't mean to make you feel out of line. I did not take it that way with what you said and I hope no one else did. I knew what you meant with the DNR thing and it is ashame. I have been to Horseshoe Lake one time and did not fish because of what the local people told me about it. While I was there walking around it reminded me of Reelfoot because of the trees. I just wish we could fish it and catch good fish again. There is no reason why this lake should just sit there and go to waste.
I'm not sure why I like Reelfoot so much but it is my favorite lake to go to. I think because it is not far away and it has both species of fish that I like to catch, Crappie and Bluegill. And the trees are there for the fish to get under. Like I said when I retire I plan on having a place down there to stay 24/7.
You should go to Reelfoot and fish again I know you would go back. Maybe we can get together and go fish it sometime. I go every year, sometimes several times a year except this year only went once with all my buddys that I work with it's an every year thing in May. My kids love it down there so I try and take them more than once.
Anyway I for one was not offended for what you said it was only the truth.

Old thread (I know). Anybody fish Horseshoe the last few years? Was contemplating an early trip down for crappie/gills. It would be fun to fish the cypress trees.

I'm totally with you on the Reelfoot Lake plan, that place is my heaven on earth. Always wanted to try Horseshoe, should've done it long ago, sounds like.
