In the winter i always carry a bag of sidewalk salt in my truck.
ive been stuck at the frozen boat ramp before, it's not any fun waiting for a friend to come salt the ramp for you so you can load your boat. lol

Many reservoirs have begun the winter draw down. Watchfor exposed moss at the bottom of the ramps. It will not dry out as fast thistime of year and 2 wheel drive vehicles may struggle.
Always check the ramps for ice before you back down them. In addition to salt I also carry some abrasive material to toss on the ramp. Works quicker; then salt the ramp for later. For abrasive, sand or better yet fish aquarium gravel works great.
When duck hunting under real bad ramp conditions, we always take two 4X4 vehicles and a tow strap.
The only place success comes before work is in the Dictionary.
