    Default Crappie on FIRE!!!

Fished Lusk Creek Monday from the mouth to about 3mi up creek and caught quality fish on all laydowns. Depth fished 1" out to 6". Southern Pro grubs orange & green. Ended the day with 4 quarts of fillets.

Tuesday fished a lake in Wayne County and WOW! Same pattern as creek with lots of 10 and 12in fish. Fish were laying around laydown's busting shad!!!!!

    Planning on trying Shelby Thursaday!!!

Lusk Creek is located in Golconda,IL right on the Ohio River. It is a feeder creek that is filled with STUMPS!!! and laydown's. The creek has a narrow channel that runs right down the middle of the creek and is very dangerous to run if you get out of the channel. Depth of the creek varies from 20" up. This is just one of many creeks I fish. Some of the others include 3 mile, Saline, Grand Pier & Big Creek.

    Default River Crappie

Here are a few pics of some fish my boy and me caught @ Smithland Pool this past week. I have been fishing around Bayou and Dog creeks. It looks like the fish may be biting better up towards Lusk and Grand Pier according to Ranger. The bite is starting to improve with the cooler weather, but it still slow for this time of year. We caught the crappie with emerld shiners and the bass with shallow running crankbaits. Also, I posted this report a couple of days ago on the Ky forum.

Days total was 5 keeper crappie and 2 bass. These fish were released to bite again.

2nd trip results were 15 crappie and 1 bass. The crappie were 9.5 to 13.5 inches.
