    Default 10/4--A different bite

I sure must not be fishing where the birdman is, cause all I can get are fish up to 11 inches. The bite was different today. I found bait stacked over laydowns in 20 foot of water. I lowered my jig to the bottom, then raised it six foot an let it down slowly, and the line would go slack. Never felt a thump. Those fish were feeding in the bait balls and were anywhere from 4-6 foot above the down tree.

Used 1/4 oz. deep ledge jigs, with chart/glow and purple/chart. I tried white without much success. LSG, gave me the hint to look for the bait and then fish the laydowns. Another helpful hint. I can use all the help I can get.

Oh by the way these were not released but given to the neighbor, after I cleaned them. She calls me her fish fairy, since they just show up on her door after the bell is rung.

Golfing is only over when they lock the gate and won't let me in. I usually play at least once a month, unless there's snow.

Shonn--That is as 10 over and 4 under, not the date. With just a little bit of mind you could have figured it out. I'll have to be putting pencil marks on your boat just to keep track of how many fish you catch. Oh yeah, I'll be fishing again tomorrow. Have fun at school.

I went today as well and was tearing them up early this morning. I fished with 2 poles and had a time keeping up with them both. Alot of smaller fish were caught but a bunchg of fat 9 3/4 fish. I too could not get anything over 11in. I was 3 shy of my limit with overs but all in all I had a blast catching what I did. Met LSG early this am to get some deep ledge jigs, which is all I have used since a trip with him this past April. Most of the fish were caught 10 ft deep on black/chart body with char/or white jig head. Probably won't be out until next Thurs as call starts this weekend. Good Luck to all and happy fishing!

Jerry I too was confused with the title of the post. As for shonn and the penic marks on his boat, that wouldnt do no good! He has to take the boat out first to catch fish and well...his job just doubled today!

Boy, you sure know how to kick a guy when he's down! We started basketball practice today, so my life is over for the next 3 months. Think of me while you're pullin in crappie today and I'm trying to get 8th graders to understand mitosis...
