Had just enough wind yesterday to get the whites fired up and if you have shallow whites you have feeding walleye. We caught eight walleye but the biggest a fat six pound fish got off next to the boat. I told the client that a Zebco 404 will just give you a fish tale not a fish picture. Of couse the drag was locked down and the fish snapped the line after lazily just coming to the boat then realized it was hooked and pop there goes the line and one of my lures.
The picture has four walleye in it. We caught three short fish besides those and lost the big one. Give me a strong wind and I wll get you a ton of whites and walleye and maybe a muskie to boot.
This pattern seams early to me but I have been getting my whites very shallow all week. Now that they are done dropping the lake the fishing should get good. If we have walleye fishing anything like we had back in May we are in for a ball. Just play the wind game and fish the shore line on flats. I am using Blue Fox spinners and 1/4oz. Big Dudes both available at D&M in Sullivan. Using ten-pound Power Pro so I can cast it a mile and cover water quickly. Remember keep drag light, you never know when a bruiser will get on your line.

Who needs drag, thats why they invented back reel!
Nice catch, I love getting into a school of white bass like that. Ya'll are gonna be cleaning fish for awhile!
I guess I should have gone north instead of south on saturday...
However, I did catch a number of crappie down there but not many overs. Kept 10 all on minnows. Had plenty of gas and only had to run to Lythia for more minnows. The wind played havoc on my boat and went through one battery before noon. Kept two lost whites and lost my transom light (clip on) to the lake. The ramp at Coin Creek wasnt too bad.
Really enjoyed catching the crappie even though most were around 8-9 inches. Lost a couple of nice ones at the boat though...
Hunting season (early goose) starts wednesday so I might be on the lake for that if all goes well. Probably wont be fishing till after the 19th as I love my waterfowl!
Great catch !!!

Steve, the crappie here on Rend suprised me how shallow they were this week. That looks like a heck of a mess of meat for those guys.
