I use powerbait and corn. I rig a small gold crappie hook, with some weight above it, and fish the bottom. I try one pole with each bait to see which they are prefering at the time, and then adjust accordingly. Looks like we are gonna see some rain here on sat., oh well, thats what they made rainsuits for.
You duck hunters aint scared of a little rain. Hey congrats on the new rod. Thats cool.
Taking my 4 grand kids to Gebhard Woods in Morris, I do the treble hook, bobber thing and these trout love velvetta cheese,if the fishing is bad you can still have a cheese sandwich, kids are 5 -12 yrs. old. I will probably get stuck for breakfast too at Mcdonalds!! Don't forget the new high priced fishing licence and inland trout stamp!
Yeah I have spent many a days sittin in the duck blind gettin rained on. You just draw your hood down nice and tight, close your eyes, and if theres birds in the air, your buddies will be sure to wake you with the reports of their shotguns. LOL.
Well, I made two visits to the EIU pond in Charleston to watch the fishing. Saw some nice catching going on and maybe some cheating (keeping more than 5). Did not fish myself- just watched.
Well I wish I would have caught enough to do some cheatin, even though I wouldnt have. I got a late start, and me and my wife ended up with 3 a piece. They were all on the small side, but I saw one guy catch a monster. Not a great day, but got to spend some time with the wife, catching fish.
