Got out 4 or 5 times with good ice six or so inches then came the thunder, rain and 50 deg weather last couple days. Seems like it gets harder and harder to get a prolong period when you can fish. I fish small lakes or ponds, look for the deepest water and start there, seems to work here. IDO had a great show on finding and fishing bassin crappie last week http://www.youtube.com/user/InDepthOutdoorsTV.

Is there a too deep when it comes to crappie? I've tried looking around the rest of the lake for them but haven't been able to locate them. There are couple of holes on the lake that are 60 feet deep. Do you think they would be suspended over water that deep?
