I have a friend visiting the area and he wanted to get acquainted with ice fishing. The pan fishing has been slow so I took him to a small lake where there is quantity not so much quality.
I set up his rod with a jigfly,some power bait and a lite action spring bobber. It took about fifteen minutes and a few missed bites for him to get used the the spring bobber. After finding out it is a sight bite not a felt bite and you had to pay attention he did well icing a bunch of perch and gills.
He was amassed how lite the bite is and now well the spring detected the bites.
