First Time out in 2011

Went ice fishing today and what a day. Caught 14 panfish mostlly 10 in perch and couple gills and 1 sunfish. Best part of outing was catching a 29in Northern on a ice jig and 1# fireline micro ice, from a 5 inch hole. Brother helped me out, got the head of the northern by the hole heading up he gaffed it in the jaw and pulled like hell to get her up. It was touch and go for some time as the hole was so small. Landed it on the ice and the fish is history as we ate her for dinner as poor mans lobster. Great to be out today. Rich
