    hi guys, was just woundering if a 10" round tip up will work with a 8" hole? or does the hole need to be 10."

    You should not have a problem with that. The base sits on the ice with the reel extending down into the water. A 12 inch hole might not work too well.

    Get a couple Beaver Dam tip ups and you are set for life with the best also a couple wind tip ups from HT are good to have in your arsonal.They let you use dead bait from previous outings so nothing goes to waste. The northerns love the movement of the minnows, can't seem to pass em up.Planning on first trip this thursday going to use both types of tip-ups. Rich

    Fishing was terrible thursday. No tip-ups and one 3 inch perch for 5 hours of hard labor. Just gotta get better Rich
