Anybody had the chance to use the new vexilar fl22hd, I'm thinking about picking one up. I already have a fl18 and will not leave home without it, so if this new unit is better , I need to know. Thanks in advance for any info

You can retro fit the tri-ducer to your 18 for a whole lot less than the $550 they want for the fl22. That's about the only difference between them that makes much of a change. The ducer up-grade will give you some edge over a conventional ducer in the 18 but not much. The 22 can't touch the LX5 Marcum's technology and costs more. If I had the 18 and was happy with it, I'd do the ducer up-grade and call it good. You aren't gaining anything by purchasing the 22 that you can't gain with the much cheaper ducer up-grade for the 18.
