Having been active in Lab rescue (OKI) and previously MVLRC for better than 20 years every little bit helps but... the greastest thing you can do for a rescue is to volunteer to be a foster. As I have a proven record with unruly dogs, I often get the best of the worst so to speak. Most have gone on to good homes, a few have gone on to S&R and a few to see to see Jesus. So dogs just never got a chance and I'll not bore you with my stories

Every one of those dogs took a piece of my heart and the most memorable is the big guy that was called agressive that became an assistance dog for a 6y/o girl with polio. They are all special even if all I see are the challenging ones I see the stories and read the testimonials and thank yous everyday. Rescue is time consuming and very trying. Money is always needed, there are never enough hours.

So Mrs Tracker123 thank you and thanks for sharing. Here is what got me really active with rescue LABMED: Bullet's Legacy I met that dog years ago at a Lab specialty where he was leading a parade of rescues I think 90 in all. Up to that point in 1997 or 1998, my contributions were limited to hauling dogs, short term fostering and donating a 40# bag of food every month. After meeting that dog and the LabMed folks, I got a lot more involved with our little local rescue.
