Great article. I have been spider rigging foe about 25 years. Won a lot of tournaments spider rigging. But the best time to catch the biggest crappie spider rigging is in the winter when the crappie congrigate to the north end of the lake most of the time up in the river. I have won plenty of tournaments spider rigging in the spring fishing in 3 to 4 feet of water and they are big females, but in the winter time its on and its yhe best that it gets. We went this past friday to wateree lake in S.C. This is my home lake and we caught about 60 fish. The 7 biggest fish we had wieghed around 13lbs. The tournament the next day which was saturday and I had to work and did not get to fish was won with 12.3lbs. I wish I could have fished saturday but I could not get off work. Good luck to all winter time is were its at in deep water on ledges or river runs, the fish us these like cars use hwys, to get from one place to another. Good Fishing. Great Article.

Yep, get there at sun-up, head out and bait up 8 poles, check your watch and it is 9:00am. Them poles sure will keep you busy. Good for finding suken brush, too!
