What a great story slab! I too, love to spend time in Wisconsin. I live only 20 mins. from the border and have been buying fishing and hunting licenses for many years in both Illinois and Wisconsin. As you say, much friendlier folks up north, more my kind of people. They love the outdoors, wildlife and seeing the landscape left natural for all hunters and fishers to enjoy. No paying to launch your boat in Wisconsin, public accesss is available everywhere. I also love the signs posted at almost every curve and bend in the road, pointing us to the next public launch. We fish salmon out of Kenosha harbor, a tranquil setting for hundreds if not thousands to enjoy at the same time, sprawling over many acres of piers, walkways and FISHING!!!
Keep the great stories coming. If you ever need assistance with DNR questions, you will get a friendly person on the line to take care of your issue, every time. Best service in the outdoors of any state I've fished or hunted in. Get up north to Wisconsin, fall is gorgous and the fishing can't be beat!! You can see, I'm a bit fond of the place!

OUTSTANDING Article Ed! And some really great photos! If the fishing wasn't so good here in East Texas, I might be tempted to take a trip up there. Hey, wait! Maybe next Summer when the temperature hits TRIPLE DIGITS!! here, I may just pack up the wife and make the trip. Your insight on so many POI's really help guide the reader on a FUN and interesting journey! WTG!!
