Blackshear Sat, 7-2
A buddy has been trying to get me to go with him to the upper end of Blackshear, so we went early this morning. Started fishing about 6:30 and left abuot 1:00 pm. Was totally surprised. We caught 28 very nice crappie in about 5 ft. of water. No 2 pounders but all were nice fish. Also caught a 4 lb. channel. they bit minnows as well as blue/black/chart. Kalins, and chart. curly tail grubs. Makes for a nice mess of fish.

We were fishing up close to Campers Haven in a place called the smoke house.
I went back Monday A.M. Caught another 15 keepers before it got too hot to stay.
THere was a large Mayflie hatch Sunday night and the river and back water was covered with dead Mayflies. The most I have ever seen.

I am looking for something close for the weekend if the tropical storms hold off. I was thinking of hitting Patricks but Blackshear may be a better choice.....Thanks......Maybe I need to get Pigeon to go as a good luck charm...
