    Default west point

Headed to west point in the morning. Never been there before but the guy I am going with has. One of the guys we work for has been going out there the past 2 weeks and has been catching over 200 per day trolling live minnows in Wolf creek. hopefully we will have such luck. will post how we do when we return tomorrow.

Read in this month's Georgia Outdoor News that "The crappie bite is on fire right now" at West Point. Seems someone has found them in the timber from 20' and deeper using a carolina style rig and live minnows by fishing it around 14'. I wonder if the timber is in Wolf Creek? Also, the bridge pilings are good to after dark. Might be a back up plan if Wolf doesn't work out, but it sounds like you guys have the inside scoop. Good luck.

    Default we wore them out!!!

just got back from west point. got to the lake around 6:30 this mornin and fished until 1:30. we fished in the back of wolf creek, trolling minnows in 15-20 feet of water. We caught around 70 fish or so, 60 being crappie, 4 small lm bass, and 6 good sized channel cats. ended up keeping 44 crappie and the 6 cats. was a very nice mornin then started to get hot around 11. the bite died down around that time too. it was a very exciting trip and i know for sure i am going to be headed back to fish west point again. had a lot of smaller fish, none with a lot of size but it sure was fun catching all them fish!!!

all of the fish we caught were stacked suspended right above some underwater brush. talked to the guy at the bait store and he said folks have been catching them like crazy in sunked brush and timber with minnows.
