FINALLY!!
This winter's Crappie fishing has been a tough one for me. The fish have been schooled up the past few weeks and catching good fish proved to be a challenge. Yesterday, I finally found some good fish that were acting like they should be this time of year. This was the best day I have had on the water since November 25 (the day I hit a deer on the way to Lake Oconee). I started fishing this morning around 10:00 and found the fish to be scattered and moving into shallower water. Most of the good fish were caught in 10-17 feet of water. I caught several small fish but was able to catch some good ones as well. I long line trolled with 8 rods. Some rods had double 1/16 jigs, some had a single 1/32 jig, one rod had a 1/32 jig and a 1/16 oz split shot and one rod had a 3/32 oz jig head. I used curly tail jig bodies on 6 rods a Bobby Garland Blue Grass jig on one rod and a Charlie Brewer Pumping seed on one rod. I found fish from 5 feet to the bottom. The water had a good stain which helped. It was a great day on the water. If you watch the video I hope you enjoy it.
