Shine Runner, give Hammonds fishing a call, they have the best prices on driftmaster that I have seen. T-bar 4 rod is 70.00 and I think all are 15 % off right now on top of that.

I know a lot of you have fabricated your own rod holder rigs and a lot of the ones I have seen have been quite impressive.I don't have the time nor abilities to make my own rigs.:o I wanted to know where to buy the best but cheapest pre-fabricated rigs. I have looked at the Driftmasters T-bars holders and found a couple prices from Driftmasters direct, Bass Pro, Cabelas, but I wanted to know what you guys/gals like and don't like. I am looking at rigging the "new" boat quickly but got keep $$ in mind......thanks for any input

I'm in the same boat, so to speak, I'm debating on what kind, how many and where best to locate them. So far I'm leaning towards the titelock brand but still looking. Aint none of them cheap. I've never done any pushing but I want to setup for it and give it a try. I'm still trying to decide about a GPS too. Want to make sure that I get something that will work for me at the cheapest price.
I emailed DI a while back and asked him the same question. This is the email he sent me
Hello Wes, the holders i got came from Mark Danque of The Crappie Hole in SC. His number is 803.345.5606, its worth going up to see him, his shop is second to none when it comes to crappie fishing.
I didn't go with him cause it was a little too far for me. DI rigged his entire boat with this guy for around $300, and DI has a total of 30 rod holders on his boat.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.
When i rig my boat, i will most likley use the Black Widow Ultras, they are awesome!
Don't look howard!

These are great and are removable in 2 seconds. The folding holders for pulling are great also..

After looking at just about everything out there I think I'm gonna order a set just like that for the front of the boat, the ones I have on the boat now work pretty good. I've never done any pushing and I want to try so I guess I need the titeloks type for that. I like the fact that they are easy to adjust with out a wrench. Probably have to work this weekend but I'm about to die to try my trolling motor out.
That gadget looks like just what I need for my old junk boat to control those rods up front when I am "pushing".
Do you have any hassles with the various lines getting tangled in the trolling motor since they must be hanging at slightly reverse angles due to the movement of the boat and the water drag on the lines themselves?
Could you comment on that please?

Douglas

Slab Slayer when you purchase the Tite-Lok Ultras they make two type. They make one with a square base called the Ultra that fits in the track mount on the boat and they have one called a Ultra Supreme with an oval base that also fits in the track mount on your boat. You want that oval base it gives you so much adjustment. In other words it is not fixed you can turn the whole rod holder to either side. Look at www.crappiestuff.com, there it is called the Ultra Supreme. Ask for Jeannie she is a really cool person, loves to talk about crappie fishing. On my boat I have 9 six inch tracks mounted between the front and the back decks. This way I can have a mount in seconds whereever in the boat I may need it whether it be for slow vertical trolling, longlining, or for night fishing . The regular Ultras with that square base does not give you that kind of ability to make adjustments. The Ultra Supremes are worth every penny extra for that kind of adjustability.
