Observation is everything. I watched a guy last year at Sinclair fish minnows 4-6 feet catching fish. I was running jigs below 12 feet and nothing. Changed to that depth and started having fun. Sunday at West Point, down image said 10-15 feet. 1/16 by itself was not enough. Added #5 led went down to 10 feet plus started having fun. Quicker to add lead than tie a double. If I am not catching fish in an hour or 2 I am moving or changing depth. Hybrids come in I move. Friday before last at Oconee caught fish. went 4 days later same place and struggled. I have learned 2 crucial things over the years, water temp and the running depth with correct weight are everything. Full moon helps too! 2 full moons in March as was January. I believe a lot of fish have spawned and pulled back. Adjust accordingly each trip. Second full moon should have an impact. Personal opinion, I HATE WIND!
