    Default Hummingbird lake maps problem?

I have an older hummingbird 1197.
The lake maps will load,, but soon it will go white,, showing only my tracks and way points!
No creek channels or colored contours or depths!
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!,
    Low voltage?
    GPS sensor?
    New lake maps chip?

Putting the card in another unit and seeing if the problem still exists is one thing you could do. Also, you can use a clean pencil eraser to clean the contact pads on the card. For some reason the unit is losing the map card. Waypoints and tracks are stored on the unit or another sd card, not on the lakemaster map card. This is why you can still see the waypoints and tracks laid over the humminbird basemap. Also, when the screen goes white, pull up the page that shows you what map is being used or what card is in what slot. I can't remember what page it is....system test or something. Also there is a way to select the map card or use the basemap. One last thing to try is take it out of the slot it is in and put it in the other one. That's all I got......good luck.

have you tried calling hummingbird customer support? I had a problem with the display. They wanted me to send the transducer and main unit in for testing. After talking with the rep, we decided to try the transducer only first. After sending it to them, they notified me there was a problem with it and then sent me a new one, even though it was more than 1 year old.
