CLOUDY FRIDAY ON OCONEE 12/22/17 (video)
Jim and I fished Lake Oconee Friday from 7:45 until 4:30. It was a cloudy day and the water temperature was 49 degrees. The fish were deep in the channel as they were last week. The bite was slow all day and we had 1 fish at 10:30. The bite improved during the afternoon and we ended the day with 17 very nice fish. We found lots of fish and tons of bait but most of the fish were holding very close to the bottom under the bait fish. We had to work for them. We had two fish just under 12 inches, two fish 14 or better, five or six 13 inches or better and the rest over 12 inches. Jim also caught two of the biggest striper/hybrids that we have caught in a long time. The white/chart Charlie Brewer and a white/lime Bobby Garland were the best baits. Jim is going to have foot surgery the day after Christmas and won't be able to fish for a few weeks. We both wish all of you Merry Christmas.
