I'm told that with the smaller jig on the bottom it will follow the top jig in the water column. Therefore both jigs run at approximately the same depth. I think if the heavier jig is on the bottom the presentation is more vertical and increases chances for getting snagged. However, it will work either way I'm sure. It's okay to try different things. I hope others will chime in with their observations as we can all learn from the collective knowledge of the group. I've done a good bit of research on long lining since I started. Everything I do I've learned by copying others. There are some guys on this forum that out fish me every day of the week. I would like to know what they know!
