My son and I put in at Haslam's about 9:00. The water in Little River was muddy and the water in the coves was stained. Water temperature was 72 to 74 degrees. We went under the trestle and started off in the back end of the first big cove on the right shooting docks. When we got back out to the river we went to the western end of Optimist Island and shot docks into Cedar Creek until the rain ran us off the water around 3:00.

We tried practically every size and color jig head colors in combination with Bobby Garland bodies, Hal Flies, and Ragfly jigs.

We caught one 13-14 inch crappie and one 8-9 inch channel cat, both hit a 1/24 oz black/black/hot pink Ragfly jig. We had a few bream pecks but they weren't serious enough to hang on.

My son and I don't get to spend much time together but we had a good time on the water today.
