Default One of those days that was not meant to be

Ever had one of those days when you were at work and had nothing on your mind but going fishing. Had one of those yesterday. With all that rain coming down in middle Georgia, thought I could make it over to River Bend Park(Lake George/Eufala) after work and catch a quick mess before the water turned muddy between the rain showers..I get off work @ 1 pm but got my supervisor to let me leave a little early around 11am. Got to the boat ramp around 2pm and suited up in my rain gear. A lot of water fell real quick yesterday. Water was about 1 foot from being in the woods and over the islands. Every time a attempted to untie the boat from the dock and go out, I would hear a rumbling of thunder. I tried 3 times to leave the dock waiting 20 mins between each thunder rumble to be sure no lighting would followed I kid you not. Each time I touched the rope to untie the boat I would hear a rumble of thunder. Never felt comfortable leaving the dock especially with the water running as high as it was and me being by myself this time. I usually take my dad with me but he took a weekend trip to Biloxi to gamble.. Decided to listen to my senses and load the boat back up and come back to Macon. Took a loss on the minnows and gas and had to listen to my wife grumble about me leaving all the way back. But live to fish another day I guess. Back to work until the water gets right again..SIGH !

That little voice in my head has saved my butt many a time. When I finally matured enough to listen to it.
