Great mess of fish!

Great Day! Brought home a limit of nice fish. All fish but two were larger than 10 inches, and most were more like 12 to 14. Got to the spot I wanted to fish - close to new river - and started fishing around 8 am. Trolled jigs and jigs tipped with minnow. Jig color did not appear to be a factor, but the minnow did. No minnow, seemed like no bite! Here's the crazy thing - water was 49 when I arrived, and 51 when I left, but the fish I found were in 3 foot of water! This was the first time (but not the last) that I tried this technique. I don't know how many of you watch or look at the Alabama board, but Ditch Basser always seems to do well. And yes, I know he is in a Kayak, but thought I would try it in my 18' aluminum boat. Let me tell you, he is right about speed. Most of the time, my speed ranged from 0 to 0.3, and if I got above 0.3, no bite. Heck, I felt like I should just throw out an anchor!! I fished anywhere from 20 to 30" deep, and that's it! Oh, and also landed a 30" stripper with my little ultra-light pole with 4lb test. That was fun! And yes, there is one green carp in there that got gut-hooked when I had to pee!! LOL!!
Great mess of fish!

Nice fish and great report.
Nice trip! Better than all the Ga. boys staying down at Crescent are doing.
Great catch and pix. You are in the BG contest.
