Tobo concerns??
What's everyone's opinion on the ecoli thing at the lake. You think it's safe to fish there??
-
Are the fish safe to eat?
The presence of E. coli in waters does not directly affect fish consumption, however, when fishing it is often difficult to avoid some contact with the water. Any primary contact with water that has elevated E. coli levels increases the likelihood that a person may be exposed to or accidentally ingest water from the river or stream. This is especially true if the person has open cuts or wounds or if eating or drinking is involved. Fish consumption advisories are issued by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA DNR) and are based on an analysis of chemical and metal concentrations in fish tissue:

Panfish, I spoke with DNR about this issue yesterday because my son and a bunch of his friends wanted to go skiing, The officer was more than helpful. They test the lake daily and have had no other positive test since for Ecoli. He told me that in his opinion it was ok for my son to have fun on the lake, He also told me that this happen more than people realize he said after a heavy rain goose poo gets washed in to the lake and it will 9 times out of 10 cause a positive test.
anyway just my 2 cents.
