Default well I finally got bit by the crappie bug!!! gonna try this spider rig thing

I have always loved saltwater fishing, both inshore and near/offshore, but with family and work getting the time to get enough trips to Florida gets harder and harder, and having my 22' bay boat sitting in the yard with all the electronics and I-Pilot trolling motor almost seems like a waste, so.... me and a friend decided to give this crappie/spider rigging thing a go, made a call to Grizzly Jigs and they set me up with 6 12' rod/reel combos that they thought would be god "starter" rigs.....then me and my friend spent an afternoon in his shop fabricating a rod holder base.....then a trip to academy to get the rod holders ......

Idecided to go with double rigs with 1/2 oz sinkers.....about half of them will be double minnow rigs and the other half I built with a minnow hook on top and a jig on bottom below the egg sinker....

not sure which lake to start with, Jackson is the closest to home (Griffin) but Oconee or Sinclair seem to be where the masses go and probably for a good reason.....

so any tips, tricks, lake preferences(with general area such as creeks would be greatly appreciated!!!)

dont laugh but here is what we came up with for our rod holder, held in place with the seat pedestal ....if we get into it and actually catch some fish, I'm sure I will upgrade to better rod holders, but he had most of the stuff laying around his shop....
