    Default Oconee 4/13-14

Where was everybody, ramp was almost empty.
Fished Richland 4/13 from 5:30 til 8:30 pm, caught 35 keepers, had to sort thru some short fish, but mainly were decent fish in the 3/4 to 1.0 size, no big braggers. Water Temp 74 degrees, fish were in shallow water and the best fish were on/near bank around lay downs. Lost a lot of jigs, Chinese fire drill.
Mon 4/14, fished Richland (same area) 7:15 til noon, 30 keepers (sort thru lots of short fish) then moved to river side and finished our limit of 60 by 2:30pm, just beat the rain.
Jig color and head color didn't much matter, best colors for us were old standbys John Deere, Acid Rain, Fire Tiger, Bubble Bum, Blue Shad.
Wind had the lake full of tree blooms, so you continuously working TM and cleaning jigs.
Most fish caught were male fish, big time black.

Everybody was up there Saturday! I saw more boats in that tight little area, including tubers, than I have seen all year. Good report.

Thanks for the information. We fished Sugar Creek yesterday and we had it to ourselves. The end total was 26 crappie and 6 blue catfish. Like you said there were more culls than during the past few weeks.

Forgot to tell you that I was also targeting docks (even shallow docks) and almost racking the dock with the end of long rods out the side and the fish would attack out of the shade as the jig was coming by post. I only had about 15 ft of line out on each long rod and just kept the jig out of sight from the surface, so my speed varied depending on wind.

When I cleaned the fish some still had not laid out, but I suspect they would have before this full moon is done. Good luck everyone.
