Anise Oil is, by far, is the best thing you can use. You can find it in any drug store.
I learned this 45 years ago from a young Bass fisherman named Bill Dance.

Is there anything else you can put on your jigs besides worm oil to keep them from drying out? Can't find any in Warner Robins. Hate to drive to Macon for a bottle of worm oil.
Thanks

I used WD-40.
Go to the Drug store and get a small bottle of Gylicirin may not be correct spelling. It will be medical grade with no taste or smell. Get a bottle of anise oil. Take some of the glycerin and add a little bit of the anise oil. It will keep your plastics like new for ever. I just put mine in a zip lock bag add a few drops seal bag and just rub them around in it. Got some plastic worms in bags that are probably 15 years old and still like new.
Years ago I heard that anise oil was used as a scent for fish attraction, don't know if it is just a fish tale or not.

I use anise oil, but it tends to dry out after a bit so you have to add a bit of moisture(water). Just read the post about glycerine…think i'll try that.
Keeps em from drying out Joe?
Thank you.
