Nice job on landing those fish on 4 lb test!!!!

Pops and I decided to try and fish some deep ledges on Sunday. Once again fishing was slow and we only managed a handful of whites and 1 crappie. However we did land these two below. 1/16oz minnow tipped jigs on 4lb test. Good thing both fish bit on the 12' rods or else we probably would have never got em in the net. Lemonade I guess but I sure would like to prove to myself I can catch crappie...

wow nice fish and a nice job done
Very nice, I certainly wouldn't mind catching one of those as a fail when targeting something else! It had to be a blast on 4 lb test, how long did it take you to boat him?
Bout 7/8 minutes per fish. I used the TM to keep from getting spooled and to keep the fish from fouling up every rod in the water. Having the 12' rod was the real key. Those long flexing rods provide a lot of "drag" and protect the line from breaking when fish run - same principle that allows people to catch big trout on fly rods using 2-4lb test tippet. The only real nervous part was when it was netting time.

Nice fish! What model boat is that?
Its a G3 1860 CC- All white with no graphics. If anyone sees us out on W. Point give a holler
Probably be over that way soon. What part of the lake do you normally fish? I will be in a RED RANGER ANGLER 1760.
Earl,
We fish everything from the train bridge on up the lake and even well into the Hooch up past Brush Creek. Most the time though you can find us in Turkey or Whitewater creek.
How bout yourself?
Just about anywhere but mainly up the river toward 219 bridge, Ga Park.
