Default Info on Clarks Hill Needed

I'm trying to put some plans together for trip to Clarks Hill the first week in March. I have never been on the lake before but my partner has. He knows the area a little bit around the upper end close to Pistol and Coody Creek, so thats the general area we are planning to fish. As of right now I dont know where we will stay. If anyone knows a place close to the lake that has accommodations for fishermen I would appreciate any info. I'm thinking worst case we can stay in a motel up in Elberton. I dont mind staying in one as long as I charge my batteries and such. Also, any info on fishing the upper end would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Daniel

Try Cullars Inn in Lincolnton, they have hook ups for boats, close to good food. Probably a 30+min drive to Pistol creek, but i would try Soap then work your way up to pistol. That time of the year the fish should be very shallow, pay attention to the bank fisherman they are the first sign the fish are shallow. Hope this helps and good luck.

I've stayed at Cullar's and was very satisfied. Is the lake still low?

I booked 3 nights with Lazy L Cabins of hwy 72 at the northern end of the lake. Sounded nicer than a hotel for fishing and good price too. Has anyone ever stayed at one of these?

I will be fishing from the 6th through the 10th. I think I'm going to put in at Pistol creek since it puts me in the center of several creeks to try. Any suggestions on wear I should start my search? Im thinking with this cold weather they may be held up closer to the mouths of creeks.
