Default led strip lights / any use for bait?

I was looking on ebay and came across LED strip lights. They are waterproof and 3M backed 12V 5050 .
I found green 5meter strips for around $20. I was wondering if anyone had used these on the outside of there boat, simmilar to under water lights to attract bait. seems like a good price.
They have 300 leds in the stip and come in 5050 (brighter bulb).

    Your thoughts on this?

wouldnt have to lug underwater lights around and should be very low power use.

I run a couple strips on the inside of my boat under the gunnel. Flip the switch and have instant light over the front half of the boat. Got the green color. Bulbs are pointed down so no glare in the eye. Should work on the outside but not as good as a submerged one I would think.

Home depot and lows sell a acrylic tube for florescent bulbs you could get seal cap onn one end take another cap cut hole for light wire to go through then seal every thing with silicone and it will work fine.

Size: 12.5 KB I found this online. This is more what I was talking about. I wonder If the ebay specials would perform as well.

Has anyone tried these e bay led strips yet? Looking for some new inexpensive ideas for my boat, (25' party barge) also have looked at the undercar neon lights (green and white) wondering which would be better?
