The trebles count as 1 hook for tournaments since they have a common shank and 1 eye.

Nice catch shine. When you pull cranks what kind of rods, line, reel etc are you using. I want to try this out but wasn't sure if my 10 and 12 ft rods could handle a crank bait like that. They are the light action crappie Maxx rods I have them in 9 ,10, 11 and 12 ft. Will these work pulling cranks with a bigger reel and heavier line.
I am using BNM Prostaff 8 12 and 14's off the sides and a couple off brands too. If pulln out the back 6 or 8 would be fine. Try to keep as much separation as possible so you can turn. Med action is enough. They all gonna bend and shake the tips a good bit but set the drag loose incase you hang up. 10 lbs mono. If anything the line counter reels make the most difference. I run anywhere from 30 - 125' of line out depending on dive of bait and depth I want to target. I have a chart built off 10 lbs mono at 1.6 mph. Broken down by Bandit 100 200 and 300 series baits. Other brands with a similar build run pretty close. Line counter reels need to be spooled full for the counters to work right. Even if you aint hittn exactly the depth on the chart, keep changn line distance till you get bit or start bumpn bottom. Adjust accordingly. I found 6 reels for about $26 @ last year. Best money spent. Use them pushn cranks too. If you got some cranks layn around, it would be worth a try. U can catch baits on clearance at store or on some websites to ease the pain of buying them if you decide to pursue it more.

One of these days I am gonna try pulling some cranks....But it will have to somewhere other than Talquin!!!!
Lightwire treble hooks ??????
"i only like to fish when i am by myself or with someone"
Yep Tim I don't think Talquin would be worth it.
JBF I have just been using red trebles but I bet Curtis could make it work out. Sure would be nice since the baits average $5 @!
