Wink Best money I've ever spent

I bought me a set of Cabela's Guide wear series Gore-Tex Parka/Bibs when they was on sale a few weeks back.

That was some of the best money I have spent on fishing, I have had occasion to wear them several times and not only are they waterproof, they are
also windproof and with a sweatshirt under the parka you will be warm on all but the coldest mornings(just add layers). They are also comfortably to fish in all day. My only complaint is its a little difficult to answer natures call with the bibs on.

Here's a pic of my ugly mug modling the parka holding dinner.

Agree with Rawhide about the zipper, but Dutch, those things will last forever. One of my fishing partner has had a pair of those for at least 15 years and they have never failed him. They get a little toasty in late spring, but they are always dry.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a set BAD, but since I contest to always being a "fair weather" hunter and fisherman I just cant justify the cost. Even with the suit, I really dont want to fish or hunt in freezing cold temps, high winds, or rain so I'm just going to continue using the bibs, jackets, and cheap rain gear (for emergencies only) that I already have. Congrats to you on the new suit though.Thumbs Up

Rawhide I heard you a special bib overhauls made with the zipper in back. Thought it was suppose to be in the front for you old fishermen? See you next week.

I hesitated for a long time as well due to price but at almost half off I couldn't resist.

And my wife says that she doesn't know if I'm dedicated or just stupid for fishing in the cold and wet. LOL

Dutch, I bought a set a year or two ago and it's the best investment in gear that I've made. I missed out on some great fishing by avoiding the rain years ago. Then I tried some cheap suits and was miserable. Some of my best days on the water have been in all-day soakers. There's not a lot of boat traffic even on Saturdays when it's raining all day and the way I see it "the fish are already wet"..so let 'er rain and go catch a mess of fish.
