I need some opions. A guy is giving me a 10 ft Jon Boat that does not take on any water. Can I safely use it in Talquin?

I agree a 10 footer dangerous on lake with big boats running
Make sure you wear a life jacket. I have used a 10 ft for small ponds and around the shores of a big lake. Stay around the shore and you will have fun.

depends on how wide it is . had a 14 ft. that was so narrow with a 10 hp you had to sit in the middle or it would take on water if 2 people leaned to the same side.
had a buddy that built a 12 ft plywood boat and ran a 50 hp mercuray on it .![]()
retired and now i will always fish
Im with outlaw. My jonboat is a 1436 all welded heavy gauge aluminum and for the most part I am the smallest boat when i fish talquin. I would not want to be in anything smaller. I also do not dare go with winds over 7mph.
