Default heading to Dodge in the morning

Well I was gonna go to Blackshear tomorrow, but the trolling motor went down so I had to do some engineering. One time foot control MinKota is now a modified hand control. Would really like a new one, but the little lady said I can't have nothing else new until I get a wedding paid for....so $18 dollars later and I'm all set to test out the new design. Know alot of ya'll will be at Blackshear. Good Luck to ya'll. If any of ya happen to be at Dodge PFA tomorrow be sure to say hello. I'll be the ugly fella with a pretty little thing in the back of the boat trolling with a jacked up trolling motor.

got to the lake this morning to see how the fixed up trolling motor was gonna do. did great, except for it was a five speed reverse. got my wires crossed putting it back together. had to go fix that mistake and made it back to the lake around 2:30 and fished til right before dark. only managed four crappie and a couple of little bass. have not figured out how to catch any numbers of fish yet, but we had a good time. here's a pivture of the 2 best ones. maybe a little over a pound? not real sure, but they are gonna taste good!

Nice fish.......I have not been there in couple years but have caught some good ones at Dodge in the past. Fishing with two poles slows the action.......But still enjoyable.

yeah it does I reckon, but it is a good place to go and learn and it's close to the house. still got alot to learn before going to the big lake. used some lightwire jigheads I got on friday, they worked pretty good. didn't look near as many as I would have. thanks for the good product.

There is a lot to learn when fishing large lakes especially this time of year. When we went to Blackshear Friday, using my GPS, found the channel and stayed in the channel all day. We trolled about a mile following the lines on GPS......never got in water less than 25 feet....(except one time and we got hung)....and caught fish all day long. TnT was over ther Thursday and told us the general area. We caught most of our fish 200 yards past where he fished Thursday......but used same method.....#4 lead and throwing way back and trolling bout .7 mph on GPS. Learn something everytime you go fishing.

I have heard that Dodge Co. pfa has some nice crappie in it. Them 2 sure look good. Im sure trolling is hard there with all the timber. Congrats on a nice catch. It sucks that all the pfa's are closed on Mondays now. Was it crowded when you were there?

Lightwirehooker where you using single or double jigs? I went yesterday and got 5 dropping minnows, then went south of the bridge and tried a little trolling but the wind was tough and called it a day.

Yes......we were using single jigs w #4 split shot and we were double rigging w #4 split shot in the middle. It did not make a differance ......sure can throw a long way back with # 4 piece of lead........sure is fun pulling them to the boat.
