Red face Caught a few Sinclair Crappie before the cold front

Spent a few hours on New Year's day chasing crappie on Sinclair. Had intended to run down the lake a bit but lost the high speed jet on the carb. Wound up in Shoulderbone. Caught 5 in 10-12 FOW and 5-8 FOW mostly on white body, yellow tail jiffy jig, bare and tipped with minnows. My cousin caught 9 in the same place with minnows only. Meanwhile, my friends were further down the lake catching 42 in the same place they had caught 45 on New Year's Eve.

Still quite a bit of fun. Got the carb cleaned today and hope to be back next weekend when temps are supposed to moderate again.

Hey Joel. Is that you? I've been doing a lot of Crappie fishing on Oconee lately with mixed results. Catching a mixed bag of Hybrids, catfish and crappie in deep water. Call me when you're in town and we'll go sometime.

    Yep, that be me.

I expect to be down some time Friday afternoon or evening, assuming the weather forecast holds snd the temps warm up. I will touch base with you on Thursday or you can call me. With the carb cleaned I should be able to reach the creek where my friends caught the 45 and 42.

You are definitely welcome to go --- we can use either boat if you are worried about mine -

    Talk to you Thursday.

Me and a co-worker are thinking about hitting Sinclair tomorrow around lunch time..Haven't fished there since last year so it will be a hit and miss trip..Gonna put in at the Steam Plant and go from there....Maybe we can find a few.

I don't have a problem with your boat, Joel. Mine is good to go as a back-up. My friend caught a limit Saturday just down the Lake from you trolling in 20 feet. I'm afraid the drop in Temp may have run them deep. We'll give'em a try.

Good deal --- my friends were in a creek below me as well. I expect to leave Atlanta by 3pm on Friday. I'll give you a call tomorrow night and we will sure give them a try!

Good, I'm in. I am off on Friday. I'll prob. go to Oconee and look in my honey hole to see if they have gone deep. I'll let you know what I find.
