    Default heading to Blackshear??

I'm thinking about heading to Blackshear for the first time on Monday, (if it ain't too cold for my girlfriend) and was wondering if anyone might share a place to try and catch a few. I know nobody don't wanna give up their spots, but hoping to at least get pointed in the right direction. I'm planning on doing some longline trolling so if you know anywhere that is good for that I'd really appreciate it.

I have heard some good reports up around the 280 bridge and also down the lake in and around the channel ledges between Cedar Creek and Collins Branch. Thats all I can tell you...I would probably also try the channel just north of Cedar Creek on the East side of the lake....I am hoping to bring my boat from Talquin after next week and do some fishing at Blackshear in January.
Good Luck....Hope you can find some fish!!!

Appreciate the advice TnT. Would the ramp at the state park be the best place to put in?

TNT gave you some good places to start. Probably be a few boats at each of those spots. I used the new Mega ramp at the park last weekend and it is pretty nice.

Also, got a text earlier today about a 3.4 lbs crappie caught this week at Blackshear. I am waiting on the picture to see. I hope to get down over the holidays at least one day to see if I can find some hungry slabs myself.

like they said the 280 bridge.. i went y-day and they were some fish stacked in there .. use the channel there,, you will see a smiley face painted on the bridge concrete and a sonny purdue sign there just troll that channel right there about 100 yard on each side of the bridge.. y-day everytime we would go up under the bridge we would hook up so it was good.. watch for the hybrid they are in there to and we all know what they will do with 15 poles in the water...

Well I haven't graduated to that level yet. I'm still at two poles in the front for me and two in the back for my girlfriend. I appreciate the advice though.

thanks GBM, I'd love to get into a good mess of them with her in the boat. of course after taking all her fish off I might not get much fishing time for myself!! It'd be well worth it though.
