Be careful swimming at Tybee. There are riptides with undertow. Enjoy your trip and eat at Spankys.

you can fish off tybee peir for whiting-big reds-sting rays. go down tribis street to the back river (need a boat) to fish for reds-trout-or sheephead around the docks. back river also has a fishing peir. comming onto the island where the light house is thay have some docks to fish from. good luck. must eat at the sunday cafe all the locals go there.great food.great price.on the island right side at the big curve.

You can fish off of the pier but you got to get there early to get the best spot. When you go to the pier go to the end and go to the left. Get to the outside corner. Cast out at a 45 deg angle. Fresh Shrimp (Not bait) and cut squid work good. You can also drop a sabiki rig along the peir piles at high tide to catch spades. I don't like the peir too moch because of the heavy use. If you want to fish from the surf hang a left to one of the side roads just after the Tybee road makes the sharp right. I have caught most anything from this area and this ares does not have as much human traffic. Another area to try is the Ft Pulaski Bridge. Lots of fish come from that area daily and you will just about always see someone there fishing. Hole these help. I have other areas but they would not bee good places to go if you are not from the area.
