Great morning to be on the water for sure. Arrive at the ramp to see gfox putting in that big Ranger Fisherman, very nice ride. He and I worked out a plan to find some slabs, of course plan didnt work out that well. I caught about 10 longlining but they were all real nice. When the sun popped out the crappie went straight for the brush. So I had some new jigs Soldierman gave me and well.....it was on. I single pole jigged on top of brush for about an hour and caught some hammers. I havent fished like that for many years, good to know I still got the touch. Had to be touching the brush with the jig to get a bite. The fish are on the move so I predict the next 4 days will be the best days to go. Caught fish from 16 to 22 FOT, baitfish was on top in schools. Caught alot of green carp also. Fun to throw a 3lb bass back with the bass tourney guys watching

Sounds like you had a Great Day. I know we need rain but lets hope it comes in moderation. Next week should be a good week. Ive been catching a few along river banks and ledges but nothing over 13 inches and not over 12-15 on a trip. I have caught some slabs in years past around the first of Oct. Good Fishing All. BB
