Thread: Blue ridge or notley

Has iny one here fished them with iny luck???

Is there any water left in Blue Ridge??? Last I heard they where draining it to do Dam repairs untill middle of next year...

Never fished either lake, But like puddle jumper said, the TVA is draing Blue Ridge to do repairs. From what I understand if you can find a ramp the fish will be concentrated into a smaller area. But like I said finding a ramp would be a problem. I also read fishing from a Kyak would be better suited for now.

Beagler, if they can get 'em holed up maybe you and I can go catch a mess. If that dont work we'll take FOM and his cast net.:D:D:D

Sounds good to me. Lets give them another month to drain some more. Then will set back and watch FOM wade and throw that net.:D

Had some luck own notley caught 5 , 1 wade 2 lbs but that was it head to blue ridge own sun. For some crappie drove by own the weekend and low low low low it was maby 35 or 45 feet. Did not find iny ramps heard off 1 going to look own sun. If not sey you notley they are own the fallen trees still....

My Mom has lived on Nottely since 1992. I lived there from 2003 through 2007 so, obviously, I've fished it A LOT. It's a very tough place to fish. There's a lot of nice fish in there but they're real spooky. The water's deep and clear with very little bottom cover so you really have to sneak up on the fish. Back when I lived there I was more of a Bass fisherman. I fished for Crappie every now and then but I was hit and miss. Good days and bad days. I did pretty good on Largemouth and Stripers fishing main lake points, especially the area in and around the mouth of Ivy Log Creek. This time of year if I wanted to Crappie fish there I'd probably go on up into Ivy Log and fish the blowdowns. I know some guys that specialize in Crappie fishing on that lake and they do pretty good. I guess they're better at it than I am. They tell me they have their best success jig fishing in Young Cane Creek. If you plan on fishing there you might want to stop by Paradise Bait on Pat Colwell Rd. and talk to Bart. He's real knowledgeable about the lake and should be able to point you in the right direction.

Or, you could take some advice that was given to me the first time I ever fished there. I was up in Ivy Log and not doing good. I saw some other guys in a boat and asked them what the secret was to fishing there. One of them said, "Put it on the trailer and take it to Chatuge."
