    Default Coosa River Crappie

A fishing buddy and I went to the Coosa River on the Ga. side yesterday Crappie Fishing. We launched Boat at daybreak and eased down Brushy Branch toward the River. I decided to stop at one of my Christmas tREE holes not far from boat ramp and wait for more light before going to River. We were going to bottombump sunken structure with minnows in the river but we decided to just use one rod each with minnows with float near the sunken trees. I knew if we caught them here this early it should be a good day in the River. The bite was instant. We caught 8 but most were 6-10 inchers. After good light we headed down to the river. We managed 17 more with and the biggest was a 13 incher. We were back to boat ramp at 1:00. Fish were near sunken structure in 6-18 ft. Not a great day but it sure did feel good being out on the water. Water temp was 79-81. All fish were released. Good Fishing All. BB

Thanks for the info. We are headed to the Lock and Dam next weekend. Sure will be nice if it starts cooling down .
