    Default Talquin

Folks I've been to Talquin a couple times in the last 2 years but I've never been in March. I assume it is a good month to go. Any comments would be appreciated. Will the specks be on the banks then??

I usually go in jan. and feb. while there still deep but have never been in March or later. We also go in april to catch bream and shellcrackers.Last year when we went in april we did not do a whole lot with the bream but those guys where tearing the specks up in the coves.I would think that by then they have layed their eggs and are scattered around in the coves, but I'm not sure. All I know is there were limits coming in left and right and good warm weather to go along with it.So needless to say I am gone try to get down there in late march or april for some of that action...Good luck:D!

Two years ago I limited-out almost every weekend during the month of march. last year, with all the rain we had, it was a little rough. The fish seem to move around alot more and didn't hold like I found them in the past. You just had to keep moving until you found them. Good luck and give it a try.

On any given day between now and probably June will be a good time to go. The first weekend in June last year really surprised me last year with the number of fish that we caught.
