Thread: For All You Long Liners...

I mix it up with unpainted, chartreuse, red, black, white, and orange. Probably more for me but there are days when it will make a difference. Jig color is probably more important. Get you some of the lightwire ones from Lightwirehooker and you won't loose as many either.

i used paint heads that match my bait does it help who knows i have goting as many on unpainted

I use a planen weedless jig that jusfshn pours for me. Dont have any problem catching fish and dont loose many jigs. The weed guard is the trick.

Unpainted with a red eye that i add myself with a toothpick. Tore some crappie up on Blackshear this weekend with em long-lining about .9mph at 16ft down. No meat, just grubs! I did use slab sauce that i got from Rad'z :D

This young lady is holding the largest fish we caught at 16 inchs / 2.4 lbs, all fish were caught on unpainted heads doing true long-lining.

I fish with both, but I can't say that one makes a difference over the other. When I asked a "Seasoned" crappie fisherman that one time, his response to me was " The color of the jighead is only as important to the fish as it is to the fisherman". And he has poured thousands of jig heads!!

I use painted cause i like my crappie to have a pretty bait!:D
plus i always heard presentation is key.

Aint no right or wrong answer... It matters sometimes and dont others. Personally, I use some of both and have noticed them biting a jig on a certain color head more than an unpainted head many times so I carry both.

That's a big ole white jafacman. Congrats to the young lady. Keep 'em coming guys. There's still a few of you dedicated long liners that I'd love to hear from about this.
