Default Bite IS On at Lake Blackshear

My dad and I went oput this morning and I didn't think we would do that good but was pleasently surprised. Come close to having one limit but dad was ready to come home. Met up with alot of people I knew. We were tight lining with minnows in anywhere from 24ft to 34ft of water. The ones we cought were around 20 to 25 feet deep. Cought a double o0ne time. Were biting slow but steady. I feel that iof I hadda stayed longer I would have gotten my limit easy. I ended up with 28 and kept 18 of those.

I have been wanting to ga to Blackshear but I don't know that much about the lake.Me and my dad went awhile back.We tried fishing minnows around the long bridge, down by the veterians park boat ramp and did not have any luck.It got dark and we caught a pretty good amount around the dock lights.I like fishing minnows and throwing jigs at the same time.Where's a good starting point on the lake to fish tight line with minnows?

That's great! Looks like it's real close to being wide open. Glad you had a good time Rusty.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.

I took my dad also Fri. afternoon. We started about 2 o clock and had 30 fish by dark. Caught all of them longlining jigs in 20 fow. Best colors were john deere, popsicle, bumblebee. Dad caught a 2 lb. 7 oz. fish. Made his day. Went back Sat. and the bite had slowed some but still brought home 41. Had some friends there that caught more fish than us. All longlining same colors...Very good weekend for fishing. If the weather holds we should be able to really catch alot in the next couple of weeks...:D:D
