Sorry to hear about this Shine. I am glad dragonfly is ok. That was probably one of the worst things she had ever experienced.

We are having a lot of the same problem in Savannah where I work. A couple store owners have fought back and shot the robber. We currently have a robbery task force out, which has helped slow the robberies down during the holidays.

As for Macon, I don't think there has been a mayor or other offical interested in anything other than everything besides Macon. That lawyer is probably right. A town of that size should not be that far out of whack. Corruption is deep and across the board. Heck even the Magistrate Court is useless, unless it pockets them some cash on the side!

She definitely is still feeling the effects. Time for a career change. And a trip to a gun shop and then to the target range. She can shoot a shotgun and rifle pretty well. I am sure she can handle a handgun. Guess I better not make her mad!!!!! I know there are still some parts of the state that are trying to make the quality of life better, but it ain't middle GA. Check out Macon.com and 13WMAZ.com and read back a while. Make you sick. Makes me want to get some chain for other reasons than wind on the lake.

Hamp Swain at Eagle Gun Range is the best instructor in the Macon area. Safety is at forefront of his program.

Tell Dragonfly I am glad no one was hurt and I'm praying for her. Career change would be my next move too.
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I guess we need to bring back Ronnie Thompson and his tank. People use to laugh about that but it's not funny anymore. A few tanks and National Guard out roaming the streets might be what we need. We watch Irag, Israel and other coutries on TV where shooting, bombings and killings are bad, but it's getting bad here.

Can't stand them, my wife was robbed before we got married and we live in a rinky dink town. She will never carry but I will someday. We need a little/LOT more texas justice and to bring back so major work camps and maybe once the armed robbers start seeing it they will think twice. No pay and work for food. Swingin the hammers in the pits and mines.

My dad has a use for mothballed cooling towers from Nuke plants. Put a series or cells all the way up and down them. Leave a channel in the middle for one thing. The channel has a simple sign." Go ahead and Riot" with all of them knowing that there is a jar of acid at the bottom with a handful of cyanide tablets at the top.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Thanks ya'll. Her 1st day back to work since the incident was today. She spent most of the day checking on openings closer to home. I have been looking at that same gun even before the junk that happened last Friday. That is a very nice gun. I would want two. One for her, and one for me. It would make one heck of a snake charmer too! Night fishing would be safer too.....no snakes around the boat and no scum at the boat ramp.

I dont know about macon but I do know that since kennesaw ga. started requiring gun ownership of its citizens crime has gone way down.Men and guns are o.k.Women and guns well, thats a different story. You have to make sure that when face to face they dont choke up and let the criminal just reach out and take it out of their hand.Trust me,pscycological preparedness is just as important as target practice.
